Ithaca is located northeast of Kefalonia and its name has been linked to mythology as from there it is said to have been the Homeric Odysseus, but also with the homonymous poem of the great creator K.P. Cavafy.
It is a small island of the Ionian Sea with a special natural beauty as the capital of Vathi and the local apartments of Anogi, Stavros and Kioni have been designated Traditional Settlements.
In the peculiar bay of the capital one meets the beautiful island of Lazaretto, while the island is not devoid of wonderful beaches, natural bays and capes.
The port of Piso Aetos is connected to Patras via Sami (port of Kefalonia), Fiskardo of Kefalonia, Vasiliki of Lefkada and Astakos of Aitoloakarnania.
